There’s a new Bentley Continental GT, and the Speed is the quickest version. With a huge battery, a big motor, a V-8, and all-wheel drive, its acceleration belies its 5385-lb curb weight. In our testing, it accelerated to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds @ 130 mph. That’s quicker to 60 mph than a Ferrari F8 Tributo, and the same through the 1/4 — this is a seriously fast living room. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 is a rebodied Mercedes SL, and it also has a twin-turbo V-8. It makes just 577 hp but weighs 4245 lb — more than 1000 lb less than the Bentley. Now with 4Matic all-wheel drive, traction isn’t much of an issue, and it hits 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, right behind the monster Bentley. Ultimately its horsepower deficit becomes obvious after 100 mph, and it finishes last, but still crossing the 1/4-mile mark in 10.9 seconds @ 124 mph. That’s blisteringly fast. The 2025 McLaren GTS is an update on last year’s GT, also with a twin-turbo V-8. This one, however, uses a flat-plane crankshaft and sends its 626 hp to the rear wheels only. With the engine in the middle of this carbon-tubbed supercar, traction is less of an issue than you’d think, and the mid-engined rocket explodes to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. From there on, McLaren’s most comfortable car shows off its light weight (3465 lb — or almost 2000 lb less than the Bentley) and rockets right past the other cars, finishing the 1/4-mile in 10.4 @ 134 mph. That’s just a tenth behind Cadillac’s Le Mans car! Watch the race — and its slow-motion replay for an explanation of how it all goes down. Including an uncharacteristically well-dressed Professional Idiot, Jason Cammisa, as our guide. === Contact us: Suggestions and feedback - videoquestions@ Press inquiries - press@ Partnership requests - partnerships@
