London Flooded! Heavy Rain and Severe Flash Floods in North London Today Londoners were left drenched this afternoon (June 12) as thunderstorms broke the heatwave, causing flooding across the capital. Videos from across London have shown the extent of flooding as some parts of the capital have seen cars submerged in flood water. London Fire Brigade wrote on Twitter We have been called to several reports of flooding across London this afternoon following thunderstorms, affecting roads and properties. Never drive through floodwater a foot of moving water at just 6mph is enough to float a car. Always try and find an alternative route. Areas such as Golders Green, Ealing and Croydon have been affected by the thunderstorms as a weather warning has been put in place by the Met Office until 9pm this evening.
