Titles read: “Follow THE DRUM!“. Various locations of events. Brief shots of a military marching band, Jack Simpson playing the drums in a dance band and a little boy playing a toy drum. M/Ss of the British Museum in London. Inside we see solid chalk drums, the oldest in the world, along with a skin-stretched drum from Virginia and a sharkskin drum from Tahiti. Several native drums are “sound-filmed in the great museum for the first time“. Drums from New Guinea, Nigeria, Belgian Congo and Mexico are played here by African men and women. Brief shot of Al Tabor's band, with a man in the front playing a fast jazz tune on the xylophone. A primitive rattle, used to accompany singing and dancing in West Africa, is demonstrated. Another brief shot of Al Tabor's band, where all the musicians are playing maracas. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
