In this poignant film, the younger children have even christened their car Sylvia. Starting out as what seems like a normal family road trip, as the journey continues, a sense of anxiety suggests that all is not what it seems. Once the final destination is reached, the heart-breaking conclusion of this true story is revealed. It is one that will not easily be forgotten. An old Opel Senator with a hidden letter, a plea to be cherished and loved. Sylvia is the story of why that letter was written. Richard's Prendergast's screenplay is based on a true story, and was written with the consent of the actual people involved.
