Titles read: “MAINZ - GERMANS IN NATO PARADE“. Mainz, Germany. General view of a parade lined up for inspection on the 10th anniversary of the North Atlantic Alliance. The flags of 15 NATO countries are flying in the background. L/S of NATO Commander in Chief General Lauris Norstad, accompanied by Lieutenant General Valluy, Air Marshall Sir George Mills (AOC Bomber Command), Dutch Vice Admiral Bos and German Federal Minister Dr Hans-Joachim Von Merkatz, and inspecting the 9 NATO units taking part in the parade. Several shots of regiments lined up, including Germans. Norstad and the others stand on a platform and watch the march past. We see German paratroopers marching by, led by their marching band. Next unit is the Americans, led by their marching band and carrying the Stars and Stripes flag. French General Valluy watches the French unit come marching by, twiddling French horns about.
