It wouldn’t feel right otherwise. 2013 was a dark time for Total Drama fans. Anyone who’s spent even a modicum of time around any fan discussion surrounding this show is well aware that season 5, or season 5.1, or All-Stars, is the most infamous chapter in the show’s history. It’s gotten criticism for its cast, its challenges, its ad campaign, its character derailment, its setting, its visuals, its antagonist, its length, its theme song, its theme song’s length and pretty much everything else, except maybe the bonus clips; and because of this, I have anticipating having to tackle it head on since I opened the initial Total Drama Island Roast Google Doc almost 5 years ago. There’s a lot to talk about. If you can’t tell by how long this video is. DISCLAIMER: Please do NOT make fun of me for how often my camera goes out-of-focus in this video. I am WELL AWARE and I am SORRY. A lot of people struggle to understand this but it’s a sad fact of the matter. I am very good and very experienced at complaining about cartoons on the internet; however, I am very bad at working with cameras. Very, very bad, folks. Worst of the worst. It’s quite embarrassing, actually. If you go up to me talking about stuff like aperture or white balance or shutter speed I’ll probably start crying because I am so bad with cameras that all it will do is make me sad about how bad I am with cameras. Nobody’s perfect, unfortunately. Which is why while on one hand I am very good at complaining about cartoons on the internet, I am very bad at working with cameras. Worse than my mom, probably. I’m also very, very, VERY lazy, which is why I don’t bother to learn how to use a camera and refilm this video.
