An important computer science concept in the field of optimization finds its root in the behavior of ants. I created two mazes for ants. In one, they are allowed to generate their own path through the maze. In the other, they are forced to follow the optimized route through the maze. Created for a Sculpture class at the University of Houston School of Art in 2013. I am a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Practices and Emerging Forms concentration. #IPEF
