Welcome to the video! This mixed media DIY project is part of a miniature wildflower series, episode 14, making 1:12 scale hedge & shrub roses, using tissue & copy papers, floral wire & artificial snow. Adult supervision is needed for younger persons. The hedge roses measure approximately 3 1/2 tall by 4 1/2 wide with a depth of 3 1/2” & the shrub roses measure approximately 2 x 2 x 2”. Each plant took several hours to make over several days. Inspiration ideas from: hedge rows; bramble bushes; cascading branches; roadside, prairie, meadow, forest flowers; rosa multiflora; ramblers rose; antique rose Material List: 1. tissue paper - light yellow & pink, red, fuchsia, peach for flowers, buds & petals 2. copy paper - light green or white copy paper for greenery 3. foam board - for base 4. floral wire - textured brown mm for branch stems, tall 3 1/2”, medium 2 1/2” & short 1 1/4” 5. template for oval or ellipse shapes or hand draw shape, hedge 1 3/4 x 1” & shrub 1 x 3/4” 6. acrylic paints - greens, yellow & brown for base, stems & flower interior 7. artificial snow - miniature size without glitter, mix with yellow paint 8. dried used tea bits for ground earth 9. glue - PVA clear drying & super glue (follow product use guidelines) 10. sealer - matte for greenery 11. toothpicks 12. scissors & wire cutter 13. tweezers 14. clamps 15. quilter pins 16. ruler 17. stylus & foam piece 18. craft knife & cutting mat 19. punches - (4 total) : branch - 1 1/4 inch; sunburst - 5/8 inch; 6-petal - 5/8 inch; leaves 1/8 inch (need 160 tissue petals or so, of each, for each plant & 100 or so, branch & sunburst for each plant) 20. paintbrushes 21. paper towel 22. stylus & foam pad 23. containers - like plastic lids to hold paint & glue & mix 24. markers - permanent: light brown or burgundy (ultra fine point) 25. color pencil - brown, tan or mahogany *plus work surface, lighting, safety glasses, etc Notes: *supplies & materials available online or at your local arts and crafts stores *sizes are close approximations Uses & ideas: *1:12 miniature diorama scenes for hedge rows, floral arrangements, forests, meadows, roadsides, gardens, landscaping or outdoor displays *club projects or activities - non commercial purposes I hope you like this episode of the wildflower series and are inspired to make mini roses.
