A severe thunderstorm with large hail hit the city of Villa Mercedes in the Argentine province of San Luis on Thursday evening. The brutality of the event was also reinforced by the shape of the fallen hailstones. They had dangerous spikes that could cause serious damage. The area has been declared an orange alert. The thunderstorm coincided with the celebration of the first day of the national festival, which was attended by about 7,000 people. For this reason, local authorities arrived at the scene to help the victims at the height of the storm. Unfortunately, one man in his 70s died of cardiac arrest. Several people lost consciousness, many people received head cuts as a result of hailstones. The injured were taken to medical centers for treatment. Parked cars were severely damaged by hailstones. Also, windows in houses and buildings were broken, a large number of trees were felled, and there were power outages.
