But in reading these negative reviews it’s clear that nearly all of them are from viewers who just plain don’t want to ’think’ about the film they’re watching. They want all of the nuances and mystery spelled out for them in detail so they don’t have to engage their brain. It’s also nonlinear and has flashback scenes. For anyone who really loves film, The Strange Ones is a feast of thought-provoking and emotional moments that begs the viewer to watch it again, and maybe a third time, to savour just how excellent the plot and characterisations really are. And the performances do total justice to the richness of the story.
