SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE - DEFEAT THE KING/PAST SELF STRATEGY GUIDE This is a long fight made up of five rounds. You'll have various allies backing you up in rounds 2-4, but your selected team will assist you in rounds 1 & 5. Make sure you have lots of healing and revive items, at least one character with AOE healing and attack buff, a tank, and some decent ranged & AOE attacks. (Ash prefers to use Craig as a tank for his enrage ability, Stan for his AOE heal and knockback attack, and Token for his turret and teleport ability. Syb's preferred team is Kyle for his heal and AOE ult, Wendy for targeted damage and debuff, and Stan because he likes to hear him and Wendy flirt. Yup, you read that right.) Save your special summons (e.g., Classi, Jimbo and Ned, Moses) for the final round. In rounds 2 through 4, the round ends when you take out your primary target; you don't need to destroy the minions. ROUND 1 (vs. King alone) Focus on defense and healing in this round. If you gain an ultimate, save it for the next round. The King will retreat after taking about 20%-25% damage. ROUND 2 (vs. Warrior Clyde minions) Hit Warrior Clyde fast and hard with a ranged ult and other ranged attacks. His minions can't get close enough to hit you until their second turn, so if you take him out quickly enough, you can end this round without taking any damage. ROUND 3 (vs. Thief Craig minions) Thief Craig's minions are weak but plentiful, and they tend to get in the way. Use ranged or AOE attacks to clear them away so that Super Craig and other heavy-hitters can move in and attack. (Moves with a diagonal attack pattern are very helpful in this round.) If you gain an ult during this round, save it for the next round. ROUND 4 (vs. High Elf Kyle minions) Damage and status effects done to your main character in this round will carry over to the next round, so you'll want to end this one as quickly as possible. Just like with Clyde, it's possible to bring down High Elf Kyle before his minions reach you if you hit him with an ult and other ranged attacks. ROUND 5 (vs. the King, Warrior Clyde, Thief Craig, High Elf Kyle & Paladin Butters) Your objective is to bring down the King, but you'll have a hell of a time staying alive if you don't deal with his allies first. Try to keep the King focused on one of your tanks while you attack the others (Super Craig's enrage ability works great for this). Constantly heal and revive your team and use summons and turn cancelling strategically during this round. Bring down High Elf Kyle first; otherwise, he'll constantly hit your team with arrow barrages that cause bleeding damage. (Also, he hides in the bottom-right corner and is often off-screen, so it's easy to forget he's there.) Next, take out Thief Craig so he stops filling the play area with his minions. Paladin Butters and Warrior Clyde are less dangerous in terms of damage, but they constantly cast healing and protection respectively, so removing them will make defeating the King much easier.
