Hundreds of people have fled their homes in India’s flood-hit state of Uttarakhand after houses started floating on waterlogged streets and flooding from seven holy cities. Bhartiya reports that more than 850 people have been evacuated since Sunday from the cities of Udjain, Bhopal, Nashik, Pune, Varanasi, Allahabad and Gonda. Heavy rains and flooding have left more than 200 people dead in Uttarakhand in the last two weeks, officials say.
