A small set of variations by William Byrd to show some nice colours of the Hinsz organ of Leens, sampled for Hauptwerk by Sonus Paradisi. In the last variation I used the pedals too, not authentic of course. I always like how music from the early English composers sounds on North German organs. And the stylistic links between Byrd and Sweelinck are very interesting, especially in these variations. And since Sweelinck was important for the first composers of the North German school, like Scheidemann and Scheidt, it feels at home on this organ.
