Sheiko (1938-2023) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film director, head of the literary department of the Moscow Art Theater. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1999). He graduated from the Kharkov Theater Institute , where N. M. Sheiko’s directing teachers were A. B. Glagolin and B. N. Nord. He began his stage activities in 1962 at the Kiev Theater named after I. Franko. He worked as a stage director at the Riga Youth Theater (1965-1972), the Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg (1973-1982), and as the main director at the Minsk Republican Youth Theater (1972-1973) and the Russian Theater of Estonia ( Tallinn ) (1982-1988).
