In this video, you will see the history and development of motorcycle flat-twin engines, which began as early as 1905 in the United Kingdom. Flat two-cylinder engines of the BOXER type were supposed to ensure smooth running of the engine and less shaking, - in contrast to single-cylinder and two-cylinder V-twin engines of that time. Early models oriented the cylinders in line with the frame, however later models switched to the cylinders being perpendicular to the frame to provide even cooling across both cylinders. Many thanks to all bikers and motorcycle fans who contributed their videos to our motorcycle channel.
