Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Various tests are carried out on motor cars to increase safety and comfort by the Motor Industry Research Association. We see a car in the tethered vehicle test, where it is attached to a lorry and men monitor the steering. Another test shows a man getting in a car which has been in minus 30 degree temperatures and is covered in ice, the engine starts first time, the empty shell of a car is tested for vibrations and noise resistance. Various shots of suspension and steering tests over bumpy roads, and simulated dust storms and monsoon conditions for when they are exported. M/S as a car skids to a stop on the road.
