Japanese invasion of Korea occurred between the year 1591 to 1598. The war was launched by Toyotomi Hideyoshi with the intent of conquering the Korean Peninsula ruled by the Joseon Kingdom and China Proper ruled by Ming dynasty at the time. The conflict ended in 1598 with the eventual full withdrawal of Japanese forces from Korea after the death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and a series of Japanese defeats in face of Ming-Joseon allied attacks which pushed it into the southern parts of Korea.
