Porous aluminium - open-cell complete permeable metal, up to 55% porosity, high-strength cast structure, any shape and form according to your request. Open celled metal foams and porous aluminium are both permeable for gaseous and liquid media but have different manufacturing technologies and therefore different properties. Porous Aluminium has following main advantages over open celled metal foams: – control of volume porosity – control of pore sizes – control of pore distribution / homogeneous structure Porous aluminium is a high porosity metal which is permeable over the entire surface. Aluminium is cast together with crystal salt. Afterwards the salt is washed out. The salt grains and their contact points are thus replaced by pores. Manufacturing technology of porous aluminium: – Aluminium is casted together with salt – Mechanical post-processing – Salt washing out
