AJPW and K1 kickboxing come together for the first of what was intended to be a series of interpromotional events taking advantage of the recent string of prowres & MMA collaborations featuring some very high profile foreigners. They keep things more on the showy pro-wrestling side of things rather than go for a hybrid or shooter-esque style. The collaboration did not last beyond the second event, as K1 founder Kazuyoshi Ishii’s tax evasion arrest & jail sentence brought an end to the partnership not long after the second event. 1.
