Bodycam footage captured the dramatic moment a young woman was rescued by the NYPD after trying to throw herself off a bridge in New York City on Sunday. A passerby spotted the 19-year-old sitting on the handrail of the bridge looking upset, and instinct told him to alert the police, who arrived just in time to see the woman lowering herself over the side. The cops sprang into action, clinging onto the woman’s wrists as she dangled over the freezing, fast-flowing East River. The woman was determined to go ahead with her plan, and screamed at the officers to let her go. However, they held on until a police boat finally arrived to get the young woman to safety. The woman was taken to the hospital, and her family later assured that she was improving.
