Sixty years ago, The Beatles performed at Festival Hall in Melbourne. Cameras from Australian Channel 9 recorded the sixth and final show of the Melbourne leg of their world tour, which was this show. This recording was screened on July 1, 1964, as an hour-long special titled “The Beatles Sing For Shell,“ named after the oil company that sponsored the broadcast. Of the ten songs played, four were omitted from the broadcast: “I Saw Her Standing There“ “Till There Was You,“ “Roll Over Beethoven,“ and “This Boy.“ This video shows the full performance in its entirety. The missing songs are visually reconstructed from various photos and home movies of the band's Melbourne gigs, with footage from other Australian shows or shows from 1964 used as substitutes. 0:00 Intro 0:50 I Saw Her Standing There 3:29 You Can't Do That 6:07 Interlude (Paul) 6:33 All My Loving 8:38 Interlude (John) 8:52 She Loves You 11:15 Interlude (Paul) 11:39 Till There Was You 13:52 Roll Over Beethoven 16:12 Interlude (John Paul | “Clap Yer Hands!“) 16:59 Can't Buy Me Love 19:10 Interlude (George) 19:27 This Boy 21:43 Twist And Shout 24:25 Interlude (Paul) 25:39 Long Tall Sally 27:40 Outro _______________________________________ Credits Channel 9 Adambound Photographers And Fans Like You
