Combine the subtle perfection of Johann Sebastian Bach with the brilliant elegance of Charles Gounod and something special happens. Gounod used as an accompaniment J.S. Bach’s “Prelude No. 1” from “The Well Tempered Clavier” and then added his own melodic line to create this wonderful and timeless setting of the “Ave Maria.” Recently, someone suggested this might be nice with an additional line added, and so I wrote this descant line to augment the pre-existing music. This arrangement is playable by all brass, woodwind, and string instruments (in various keys and octaves). Sheet music for every brass and woodwind instrument is available here: I hope you will enjoy the piece and the performance. Navigate to MATONIZZ FENNELL PRODUCTION.
