The electric arc steelmaking furnace uses electricity as its main energy source. Electric energy discharges and arcs through graphite electrodes and furnace materials, generating high temperatures of 2000 to 6000°C, melting scrap steel raw materials by arc radiation, temperature convection and heat conduction.
