Bali is not always sunshine and crystal clear water. We were greeted by some pretty dark and murky walls yesterday morning at Balian Beach, located in Bali's North West. The local area is very chilled out and peaceful, but obviously not everyone is relaxed - see 2:37 for a surfer's aggravated response when a local man gently prods his pink foamie. Balian is an exposed rivermouth break that picks up any available swell going, which makes it a pretty good early morning option at this time of year. The waves are a lot softer than most of the breaks located in the Bukit area but are still very fun and rippable.
