Roads searched in Eire (Southern Ireland, Republic of Ireland) during Easter Rebellion (Irish War of Independence?) British soldiers searching rural roads in Ireland. They examine roads for damage / sabotage. Royal Irish Constabulary troops walk over partially collapsed stone bridge. 4 of the men walking around on stones in the stream; looking under bombed bridge etc.; may be trying to find what explosive device was used. Another road; w/ stone walls on sides: soldier rides up on motorcycle; stops at another destroyed bridge; this one at a small stream through a cow pasture. Next; soldiers climbing over a tree fallen across road. Finally a group of soldiers struggle w/ a bunch of barbed wire which seems to be tangled up round a small stone building. Soldier takes his jacket off! Soldiers untangling & cutting barbed wire. Terrorism. Riots & revolutions. Amendment October 2011: A visitor to the site has written in concerning this clip. Apparently it is not from 1916 but from the Irish War of Independence (
