How to use a dowel joint jig to drill the holes needed to join the pieces of a bookshelf together. In a previous video we saw how I layout the melamine faced particle boards and how I got all the pieces for the bookshelf. I also prepared the melamine boards so that drilling the holes for the wooden dowels was a simple job. These type of drilling jigs are fairly easy to use, and are designed to work with a few tricks that make the holes in the sides of the shelf very easy to line up with the dowel holes on the edge of the shelf boards. Definitively this is a must have woodworking tool if we like to make furniture using melamine faced boards. 👉 See the layout of the melamine boards and how it measured and marked to know where to drill with the doweling jig: 👉 Video 3 - The pro tips for making dowel joints in tricky areas.
