Arlie Sommer shares a portrait of her grandmother. A weaver and spinner, a fiddler, blacksmith, gardener, birder, and storyteller, Ava Lutteman grew up in the backcountry of Idaho, where her parents were outfitters. Lutteman leads an old time lifestyle. She learned to weave rag rugs in homage to her own grandmother. With music from the Alan Lomax Collection at the American Folklife Center, Library of Congress.
