FRENCH riot police knocked down a man while charging at anti-pension bill protesters in Paris, an eyewitness video showed on Tuesday (March 28). The man lay motionless on the ground after being knocked over and several police officers stopped to give him assistance, the video continued to show. French police did not later respond to a request for comment on the man's health. Clashes also erupted on Tuesday at similar rallies in other cities including Rennes, Bordeaux and Toulouse, with a bank branch and cars set ablaze in Nantes. The protest was the latest in a series of demonstrations since mid-January as millions of people have rallied and joined strike action days to express their anger over President Emmanuel Macron's plans to make most of them work an extra two years to 64.
