Mark Rober asked me to help him build his auto-strike bowling ball. Mark visited me to check out my robotics projects and I went along to a bowling alley with him for the initial testing. I made several prototypes which are detailed in this video including an initial proof of concept which was entirely 3D printed. The balls use a pendulum to steer left and right which is stabilised by an inertial measurement unit containing an gyro and accelerometer. This makes it shift mass side to side to keep the ball shell at the angle set by the remote. Mark took the ball back to make the rest of his video, check out Mark's Channel: Affiliate links - I will get some money of you use them to sign up or buy something: *************************** Skillshare free trial: Matterhackers 3D printing supplies: ?aff=7500 Music for your YouTube videos: Amazon US: Amazon UK: Amazon FR France: Amazon DE Germany: Amazon ES Spain: Amazon IT Italy: *************************** You can also support me on Patreon or buy my Merchandise: *************************** Patreon: Merchandise: *************************** Other socials: *************************** Instagram: Facebook: Twitter: *************************** CAD and Code for my projects: Huge thanks to my Patrons, without whom my standard of living would drastically decline. There’s a Facebook group and everything: XROBOTS Former toy designer, current YouTube maker and general robotics, electrical and mechanical engineer, I’m a fan of doing it yourself and innovation by trial and error. My channel is where I share some of my useful and not-so-useful inventions, designs and maker advice. Iron Man is my go-to cosplay, and 3D printing can solve most issues - broken bolts, missing parts, world hunger, you name it. XRobots is the community around my content where you can get in touch, share tips and advice, and more build FAQs, schematics and designs are also available.
