Video by @filipe_deandrade // A fiery throated hummingbird in Costa Rica shows us why he makes such a great pollinator. By feeding on tubular shaped flowers, the pollen gets transferred from flower to flower as he feeds, you can even see the nutrients on his sword like bill. If you want to be bedazzled by an avian display of dashing watercolors, plant native flowers in your yard and wait for hummingbirds to arrive. I can promise you wont be disappointed. Just remember they only occur in the Americas. Here in Costa Rica, you can see over 50 species of hummingbirds.
