Ezra Pound reciting Canto XLV, the Usura Canto, recorded at Harvard, 1939. In the prelude Pound distinguishes usury from interest. The prelude, was recorded in 1958 after his release from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Washington D.C. where he was held for over a decade, charged with treason (but never tried) because he opposed US involvement in WWII and broadcast his opinions over the radio from fascist Italy.
