SUBSCRIBE: MILAN - Besides the fact that dark and glam is a major trend this season at Paris Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2012-2013, Donatella Versace had something darker in mind with this collection. Just before he was murdered, her brother Gianni Versace (the original designer at the Versace label) showcased a darker, more modern collection in July 1997. He never got to promote that new collection due to the tragedy, but it seems Donatella herself is ready to do so by amping up the dark and gothic motifs in her latest collection for Versace. True, there was something severe about the entire collection, from the too-short bang to the rimmed eyes, but that's what Donatella was obviously going for. Leather, skin tight body con dresses, armor, corsets, chains, and even her signature paillettes were bulked up in full force. Gianni this wasn't but Donatella has once again proven that she's doing a stellar job as his successor.
