The GOG Preservation Program is an official stamp on classic games that GOG has improved, with a commitment from GOG to maintain their compatibility. GOG was created 16 years ago, with the mission to preserve games. 2024 has been a cornerstone year for pursuing that mission, with the restoration and release of Alpha Protocol and the classic Resident Evil series. Our original promise to classic game creators was that we’d offload all the work from their hands and ensure that games remain compatible with modern systems forever. That’s why we are announcing a new project to make games live forever: The GOG Preservation Program, an official stamp on classic games improved by GOG. We commit our own resources to maintaining their compatibility with modern systems.
