We welcome you to another video on the amazing Tenda railway. We've already featured Breil-sur-Roya - Nice on this channel, this time we're travelling in the opposite direction, but instead of stopping in Breil, we'll continue to Tenda. The line has a very interesting history - some of which you'll learn about throughout the journey. First conceived in the 1860's, it was met with opposition in France for security reasons. Finally, construction started, but alas, a few years later, World War I broke out and it came to a halt. Finally in 1928, the line from Cuneo (Italy) through Breil-sur-Roya (France) to Vintimiglia (Italy) was opened, including a connection line from Breil to Nice. The line suffered a lot during World War 2, with some structures being destroyed multiple times. Most of the line was left in a state of despair, but miraculously, it was restored and reopened in 1979. More information to come. Enjoy your journey! We hope you enjoyed the video.
