The legendary rock band took the stage without a preplanned setlist. Instead, Chicago allowed listeners across the United States to call in or email requests. Celebrating 35 years of making music, Chicago performed 14 fan favorites in their Live By Request concert special for the A&E network. Chicago band member lineup: Robert Lamm - vocals/keyboards, Lee Loughnane - trumpet, James Pankow - trombone, Walt Parazaider - saxophone/flute, Bill Champlin - keyboards, Jason Scheff - bass guitar, Tris Imboden - drums, and Keith Howland - lead/acoustic guitar. DVD Review: Chicago is the kind of band that seems to have been around forever and it appears they really have. This show celebrates the band`s 35th Anniversary, filmed in 2002. Remarkably, they have managed to keep a substantial part of their line-up. Noticeable absentee is original frontman Peter Cetera who left taking his superior vocals with him in 1985. The key to the magic of Chicago seems to be their use of a horn lineup as opposed to the traditional guitars. They once toured as the opening act to Jimi Hendrix so they have serious music credentials. The show was made by the A&E network. Fans were invited to phone in and request a #chicago favorite from the whole 35 years in between the host chats to the band and go over some of their histories. It is also interspersed with congratulatory messages from various celebrities.
