Great outfits include a print coat over black pyjama pants, and a dress with a voluminous skirt, worn with black and gold wedge-soled sandals - “a gay Grecian note“, says commentator. Day dresses are in busy floral prints and worn with large sundial hats. Beside a swimming pool we see mannequins parading in long printed afternoon dresses, again with large hats. Cataloguer's note: this is a very interesting item as it shows that fashion in 1938 was heading towards the ultra-feminine, full-skirted styles of the New Look that came in the late 1940s.
