It begins with a Service Patrol arriving early to prepare the meeting room, to highlight the importance of preparation. This is followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to start the meeting. The Scouts then do a fun activity to kick off the meeting, followed by different rope activities, which have been dictated as the learning theme for that month. The Patrols then leave the room and compete to see who can build their part of a wooden tower the fastest. The meeting ends with closing remarks by the Scout Master, the introduction of a new member, and a recitation of the Scout Oath. 0:07 “Patrol and Troop Meetings” produced by Boy Scouts of America, 0:19 Message of warning noting that the instructional video has been shortened for immediate needs and instructions on how to most efficiently learn the material covered in the film, 1:21 a sign for a Troop meeting followed by Boy Scouts opening the door and preparing the room for the meeting, 2:18 two Scouts set up flags, 2:38 Scout checking fire sand buckets, 2:56 Scout Leader checking his program notebook and talking to other Scouts, 3:57 Scout Master shows up and speaks to the Scout Leader, 4:44 Meeting begins and Scout Leader arranges all Scouts with hand signals, 5:18 Scouts start Pledge of Allegiance, 5:52 Scout Leader makes announcements, 6:51 Scout Patrols preparing for rope demonstration, 7:11 Scout Leader prepares and starts a game where the Scouts have to fit through hoops, 8:31 a look at the Troop Program Chart for the year including monthly learning themes, 9:03 Patrol demonstrates their ropemaking machine, 9:32 a young Scout prepares a knot game, 10:25 Patrols competing to tie the right knot the fastest, 10:53 Patrols leaving the room with wood to build a tower, 11:22 Patrols starting competition to see who can build their part of the tower fastest, 12:06 Scout Master gives a speech in front of a campfire, 12:49 Scouts using rope to build a part of a wooden tower and then testing its sturdiness, 14:20 Troop hiking in hilly landscape, 15:00 Scout Master introducing a new Scout and gives closing remarks, 15:45 Scout recites the Scout Oath, 16:18 “The End” followed by messages that instructions should be given beyond this film.
