A playthrough of Sega's 1989 action beat 'em up game for the Sega Genesis, Altered Beast. The years may have dimmed the the game's luster a bit, but the original pack-in game for the Sega Genesis is still an incredibly fun, if short-lived and simplistic, bit of arcade fun. It doesn't look or sound quite as good as the 1988 arcade game, but it does feature parallax scrolling, which looks pretty nice. I've always found it pretty creepy - between “Rise from your grave!“ (complete with speech impediment), the foreground of the final stage, and the beast transformations, the game freaked me out as a kid. That didn't stop me from tearing through it over and over again, though. Not by a long shot. ______ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
