In this walking tour along the Lake Baldeney in the southern part of Essen, Western Germany, I am filming a relaxing panorama walk in May 2020 which covers some amazing sights along the lake. Come and enjoy this walking tour in 4K and view of a beautiful lake on a sunny spring day during the pandemic. I am starting this walking tour at the bridge and then walking along the Lake Baldeney. I hope you can relax and enjoy this beautiful view in May 2020 on a late afternoon. The largest Ruhr reservoir(out of 6) in the southern part of the city, is one of the top recreational area of the Ruhr metropolis. Water sports enthusiasts are in for a treat at Lake Baldeney and swimming is also permitted again at a fixed location. Another famous attraction is the boat trip on Baldeneysee. At the time of its completion, its storage capacity amounted to approx. 8.3 million cubic metres. Over the years, and as a result of its function for river purification, its bed was subject to increasing sedimentation. In 1981, after almost 50 years of operation, the lake’s storage capacity had shrunk to no more than 6.5 million cubic metres, despite a slight increase in volume as a result of mining operations, which lowered its bed. Planning for dredging started as early as 1968. Feel free to give me feedback for this lake walking tour and please like and consider subscribing to my channel if you enjoy my work. WATCH NEXT: 1.
