An animation breakdown of one of my acting shots I had a chance to animate on My Little Pony - A New Generation. I tried to push Alphabittle facial expressions as much as I could to get into his personality. I'm going to share the different stages throughout the shot and the main notes I received from my supervisors. References/Ideas - Shooting a reference is a must! You can ask your friends or colleagues to do it for you if you can't. You can always share your reference with your supervisor if you are unsure which one to choose. Early block - Exploring ideas. The main notes: Alphabittle looks the same size as Sunny which is not correct. Alphabittle needs to be dominant over Sunny and to look much bigger in the frame. Alphabittle needs to stay focused on Sunny throughout the shot. Blocking - The notes are addressed and the animation is in a good shape. The idea is locked. Polish - Improving the lipsync and the body mechanics. Adding secondary animation. I had a lot of fun animating this shot and I hope m
