A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck off the coast of El Salvador today. The earthquake occurred at 12:46 local time. The epicenter was in the ocean at a depth of 74 km, 55 km from Playa Las Tunas. The tremors were felt in El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. The authorities ruled out the threat of a tsunami, given that the epicenter was in the ocean.
