Primarily influenced by the golden age of '90s hip-hop, Sis incorporates a spirit of social consciousness and a royal sense of self-awareness (hence the moniker ““King““ Sis) in her songs. She toured the world as a background vocalist, working with artists like Kelela, just before establishing her solo artistry. Sis has always found confidence and refuge in poetry and songwriting. Originally from the DMV, she began singing at age 7 in her grandfather's church in Alexandria, VA.
