An Ode to the Eye of Ajo (New Cornelia Mine) - Ajo, AZ

A drone flight over New Cornelia Mine in Ajo, AZ. On my way back from Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, a place that does not appreciate the drone arts, I stopped in the beautiful desert outside the town of Ajo, Arizona. Ajo is the site of one of the largest open-pit copper mines in the country. While the mine has been closed for many decades, Ajo still has a healthy community with many beautiful old buildings from the time when it was a company town. The mine itself it quite a site. I hope this video can capture the sheer size of the place. As for the colors, only slightly exaggerated.
