indie pop / alt pop Once the first chords came to my fingers, I felt this introspective, slightly toro y moi inspired psych funk pop track come to life. Inspired by feelings of frustration and resignation, I wrote EC on a premise of limited time windows with too much to say. Frustrated by my own feelings of being stymied and resigned to the fact that they could not be resolved, brought me to sing for the first time. It felt like Benét showed me a completely different perspective that my protagonist had not considered. Their verse added powerful counterpoint to my story, making for my favorite Sea Glass song yet. lyrics Didn't really want to feel that way Ask me on the Elevator Tell you what it's all about I didn't want to feel that way How could anyone want to feel that way? I didn't want to feel that way The mistakes didn't make me And I'm born again I know I shouldn't worry No I shouldn't fret Boundless in transition And no life experience Wasting my life on What I thought was worth is Such a losing game I played I had to forfeit And maybe when we're strangers We can have an elevator chat In 20 years when I know I can handle that But until then I'll feel the way I feel And you'll just have to deal Don't walk away I want you to know me Oh I know It's true Didn't want to feel that way Ask me on the Elevator Tell you what it's all about I didn't want to feel that way How could anyone want to feel this way?
