The mayor of Chicago, a city famous for dubbing itself a ‘sanctuary city’ in an attempt to look stunning and brave, has been raging at Texas for pointing its new arrivals in their direction. Democrat Brandon Johnson, speaking on Monday, accused Texas Governor Greg Abbott of ‘attacking our country’ by sending migrants on buses to his sanctuary city, where he now has to give them sanctuary, which is inconvenient. Johnson cited ‘homelessness,’ ‘mental health’ issues and ‘people seeking employment’ as among the reasons Chicago is full, because no other city in the US has those things. Johnson went on to add some extra fibs to his tirade, claiming Abbott makes the migrants get on the buses ‘without shoes,’ and implying they did not consent to travel. Abbott’s office responded to Johnson, saying that ‘If he truly cared about these migrants, he would stop spreading falsehoods and complaining about a few thousand migrants being bused into his sanctuary city.’
