Quarantine Conversations: Stuart Franklin & Alex Majoli

The ongoing COVID-19 crisis has resulted in most Magnum photographers being restricted in their movements. As part of a broader photographer-led response, a new series, Quarantine Conversations, will see Magnum photographers in frank, and unedited dialogues about work, current affairs, and everything in-between. The pairings for these conversations will be made by lottery, and this latest installment sees Stuart Franklin ask three key questions to Alex Majoli. They discuss the importance of journalism in Alex's work, his project 'Scene' and photography as a stage, moving outside the comfort zone to pursue experimentation, and the work taking place behind the scenes on Alex's best-known shots.
