This Spring I visited Inujima, a small island in the Seto Inland Sea. As I walked through the soft and quiet architectural interventions across the island, I found the Nakanotani Gazebo. This structure had its own sound and I immediately started to sing in the space. ‘Inujima Echo’ is composed of direct recordings on site. The echoes helped me realize the isolation of the island and the connection that was so strong within this small isolated community.
