Today we know that there are four basic forces in the universe. The first force is the nuclear force, which attracts the nuclei of atoms and keeps everything around us from flying apart. The second force is electromagnetic, with its help we have light, the Internet, communications, television and radio broadcasting. The third force is gravitational, holding the entire universe together so that we are not carried away into space from the surface of the Earth. The fourth one is the weak nuclear force, which is responsible for radioactive decay, volcanic eruptions, and plate tectonics. All the forces of the Universe serve for the benefit of people, because our world was conceived by God as a paradise for mankind. This is the anthropic principle of science. The slightest change in nuclear, electromagnetic and gravitational constants threatens with natural collapse and destruction of all life.
