Formed in 1941 by aviator Marina Raskova, the regiment used slow and vulnerable Po-2 biplanes that were highly maneuverable. They carried out night missions, flying low and silently, causing significant psychological terror and material damage to the enemy. These women’s bravery was crucial in the defense of the Taman Peninsula in 1943. They completed over 30,000 missions and were highly decorated, leaving a lasting legacy.
