Zugstpitze , At 2,962m , the Zugspitze is Germany's highest mountain . This peak is located in the Wetterstein Mountains of the northern limestone Alps. The border between Austria (Tyrol) and Germany (Bavaria) runs between the western and eastern peaks. The “golden“ cross at the top of the mountain is the goal of numerous mountaineers and day trippers.
